I hope to hear more from Cat and Bones, too. I also feel like there is unfinished business with Leila’s sister and what happens to Mircea, so I anticipate we’ll see cameos in future books in this world. I know this is supposed to be the last book of Vlad’s story, but it sounds like Ian’s story is about to take off. This whole series would be rough as a TV show I tell ya. The battles are epic, and gory, and sound extremely gruesome. We learn more about her ancestry, her mother’s death, and meet an interesting ancient vampiress connected to the family. She’s quite a bit more kickass than I ever thought. We also get some fascinating backstory on Leila! That’s right, there was way more to her than we ever knew, and now we finally understand where her electricity powers came from. We got to know him and more of his backstory in this book, and he’s a lot more complex than his sarcastic slutty front will show. He’s sassy, he’s slutty, and apparently can be honorable. The team, believe it or not, includes Ian. Vlad is given impossible demands and yet if the team does not find and eliminate these necromancers quickly – devastation will be imminent. Our lovely electric heroine Leila is magically linked to Vlad’s stepson – a vampiric middle finger to his “daddy”, when he (the stepson Mircea) is kidnapped and tortured by evil necromancers, so Vlad and Leila are forced to comply with their demands, or the kidnappers threaten to kill their captor (thus killing Leila). The stakes (pun intended) are always high with this crowd but this time it is even more intense and dangerous. I forgot how much I enjoy Tavia Gilbert’s narration style and passion. It’s been a while since I read the previous Night Prince book so I got to re-introduce myself to this fun world and characters. and finally tearing the lovers apart forever. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila’s closest friends against them. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea.
